When Murugan scored 100 out of 100 in SSLC Mathematics, his village celebrated. He was the first student from that school to ever score centum in any subject. Local newspapers covered his story. His parents, who had hoped he would simply pass, were overwhelmed with pride. Murugan's success inspired 4 other students from the same village to pursue higher education with renewed confidence.
